From the CEO: An invitation to the Researcher Spotlight Series

It is already here! The third of five Research Spotlight Series webinars. Just an hour long, these are designed for those living with arthritis (and related autoimmune disorders), their loved ones and those who want to better understand the disease. Wednesday (October 20th) at 10 a.m. PST, four renowned researchers and two moderators—all focused on Rheumatoid Arthritis— will be participating in the panel to discuss their research. There will also be time for questions.

Dr. Chan - Forming New Cartilage from Micro Fracture activated Skeletal Stem Cells

After understanding the story and science of Dolly the Sheep's cloning (from an adult cell), Dr. Charles K.F. Chan realized cloning could have therapeutic applications for humans and could influence molecular rejuvenation, essentially reverse aging. After focusing his research on stem cells cartilage regeneration and rejuvenation, his latest work has led to being included in The NYTimes, Wall Street Journal and academic journals.

What is enthesitis?

Medical terms, otherwise known as jargon, can be confusing and concerning without definition. One of these terms that can sound overwhelming or like it should be well known, will be defined. In this issue it’s enthesitis which generally affects those with psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.


2022-23 Grant Application opens Nov. 1

The ANRF is dedicated to funding highly qualified investigators associated with major research institutes, universities and hospitals throughout the country seeking to discover new knowledge for the prevention, treatment and cure of Arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
